Happy Draw A Dinosaur Day!

Here are my entries for Draw A Dinosaur Day '09:

Action Method Online

I've been slowly piecing together the materials for the comic idea, with the help of a productivity manager called Action Method Online from Behance. I've been using it to collect and track notes, and write the script in bits and pieces whenever free time presents itself. It's proven to be a great help in organizing my ideas and figuring out what needs to get done.

More story sketches

Here are a couple more preliminary sketches for the robot story thingie:

SketchCrawl entry

Here's a drawing I did of a view out my living room window, for SketchCrawl.com:

Story sketches

Things have come to a dead stop here at work, so I had some time to scan in a couple sketches.

Here are some preliminary sketches of the main robot from the story I've been developing:

Another robot head concept:

And these are a couple of mecha sketches that, while I don't know that they'll necessarily appear in the story, inform the general direction of the design style I'm leaning towards:

Another robot head

I've had this story-- or at least, the barebones of one-- bouncing around in my head for the past month or so. I started up a notebook to jot down all the various ideas I sketch concepts down whenever I get the chance. I'll scan some of those doodles in soon, but for now here's a drawing of a robot head I done did with a Wacom in Illustrator:

The look isn't all that much different than drawing with say, a Rapidograph and some India ink, but it has the advantage of being easily editable and scaleable on the fly, which is nice. I'm not entirely sold on its use yet, but it's growing on me.

Frankenstein

Hoo boy, haven't posted in a while... bogged down with craziness at work, and on the other end of the spectrum and awfully powerful malaise. Here's something I posted to ThoughtFaucet, for the topic "Frankenstein":

Meanwhile, I've got a short story brewing in my head that I haven't yet put down on paper. I really gotta do something about that.
